Invisalign works using a series of custom-designed clear aligners that gently shift the teeth into place. Dr. Voto works closely with the technicians at the Invisalign lab to create aligners specially designed for each patient. With the aid of X-rays, photos, and impressions, aligners are created to move each tooth step-by-step into its proper position. Every two weeks, a patient exchanges their current aligners for the next in the series. They are made from clear, smooth plastic, which makes them both virtually invisible and very comfortable. Invisalign is the perfect solution for adults who need dental correction.
In addition to being practically invisible, Invisalign also offers the advantage of being removable. This means that when it’s time for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack, a patient can simply remove their aligners and eat whatever they like. With traditional braces, diet restrictions are mandatory in order to avoid breaking or dislodging brackets and wires. However, there are no such concerns with Invisalign.
The same happens when a patient needs to brush and floss their teeth—they can simply remove their aligners and continue with their regular at-home oral hygiene routine.
